focus on applying AI and medical imaging to streamline cardiovascular
disease screening, particularly in carotid atherosclerosis.
Dr. Khan completed his PhD in 2022 and his MD in 2024, both from
McGill University, and is currently a first-year internal medicine
resident. He has published 22 peer-reviewed academic papers on
cardiovascular research, including the biological mechanisms of
atherosclerosis and stem cell use for cardiac regeneration.

Dr. Jose L. Ramirez-GarciaLuna is a highly accomplished medical
professional with a diverse educational background and extensive
experience in clinical practice, academia, and the medical technology
industry. He earned his MD and an MSc in Epidemiology and
Biostatistics from Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi in Mexico
and is certified as an emergency and critical care physician.
Driven by his passion for science, Dr. Ramirez-GarciaLuna earned a PhD
in Experimental Surgery and a Certificate in Surgical Innovation at
McGill University in Canada in 2020. His research focuses on
biomaterials for wound healing, translational research, the immunology
of wound healing, innovation, and e-Health. He is considered a pioneer
in the clinical translation of hyperspectral imaging, machine
learning, and artificial intelligence to address surgical challenges,
with a particular emphasis on wound healing and infection detection.
His dedication and expertise have resulted in the publication of over
60 peer-reviewed articles.
